Field test results

We gave one of these tops to Pauline to test, she is a gardener who works in all weathers. This is what she has to say -

"I have tried many different makes of so called waterproofs over the years, some relatively inexpensive and some at the top end.

Up until now they have all proved disappointing in one way or another and usually they have not been or stayed as waterproof as the manufacturers would have us believe.

So when my partner gave me this one to try, saying that he thought we might finally have found 'the one' I was naturally not too enthusiastic to start with.

Off we went to the Lodestar music festival (great fest by the way well worth going) and as any of you that were there will know on Sunday afternoon someone pulled the plug out and we were subjected to 10 minutes of seriously heavy lashing rain. This smock, quite simply, kept me as dry as a bone - astonishing!

Since then it has been a constant friend in the cool evenings and I just love that it is more like a fleece than a jacket, really easy to work in and has that great drop down flappy bit at the back that protects my lower back when I bend over weeding.

A week later and it has just had its first wash - never been sensibly able to do this before with other jackets so watch this space and I will let you know how well it does.

I have only one real complaint - come on Rivers West - when are you going to make this in purple or pink?" P
